About Me

Good for my Family, Good for the Environment, and Good for your Bank Account. These three goals drive my food and life choices.

In my experiments with finding a lifestyle that fits my three goals, I’ve become a bit of a DIY’er when it comes to raising and feeding a family.  Follow me as I attempt to keep life fun and lighthearted – while balancing work, life, and two wee ones.  Sheash they grow up fast…

Why the blog?  Well, I’m absolutely horrible at scrapbooking (I still haven’t made a wedding album…thank you Katie for saving me here!), terrible at keeping a diary, and try as I might, I failed at Austin’s baby book.  I would love to have a way to look back on my experiences with my family, without trying to make myself do something I have tried (and failed) at for years.  So…the blog was born!  Bonus – it can keep track of not just baby milestones and photographs, but recipes, conversations with other like-minded (or not?) folks, and my musings on life.

Janelle——-love the blog. The lentil enchilada recipe cracks me up because I made almost the exact same thing the other day, sans recipe. Just wanted to eat lentils. I find it’s easy to make these types of lifestyle choices on my own and applaud you for incorporating it into “family”. I am going to be back in Michigan June 29-July 15th and would love to stop by and see you, Lyndon and the kids! Maybe it will work out.

I noticed your comment about tweeting for nobody on the Heir to Blair giveaway page. I would like to give you a coupon for a discount on my products if you are interested in ordering as penence for the limited means of contest entry. That and I dig your approach, as a vegetaring living, bicycle riding, colorado girl, I love anyone who looks to live a sustainable lifestyle. I don’t advertise it, but I am proud to use recycled papers and non-toxic natural inks in my products.

Email me if you are interested.

Thanks! It is cool that you use recycled papers and non-toxic inks. I have nothing against twitter, but facebook status updates are overwhelming enough for me, so I haven’t branched out :)
